The Sprouted Kamut Loaf

The Sprouted Kamut Loaf The Kamut grain (sometimes referred to as Khorasan) is an ancient wheat, thought to have originated in Egypt several thousand years ago. The story goes that an American pilot in World War II collected a small sample to return to grandfather back in the states. It has been grown here ever since. The flavor is deliciously savory, with hint of sweet corn. One of our customers from Italy, where it is grown in the summer, immediately spotted the flavor of the flour in the mix we use for all of our bread (except the Rye). This particular loaf is formed from the Classic loaf and is given a generous serving of our own Kamut sprouts for flavor. Sprouted grains are another rich and nutritious food, and the Kamut makes a delightfully flavorful addition to the bread. This is a favorite among many customers!
